On November 11, 2018, the Government of Alberta and the City of Edmonton will commemorate Armistice and the end of the First World War with an official ceremony and family activities. This is a free event.
The Armistice 100 Tribute Ceremony will include a 3-part story of Leaving/Battle/Homecoming featuring The Loyal Edmonton Regiment Honour & Colour Guard & Band, “Piling of the Drums” ceremony, VIP speeches, & the Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) Mounted Troop. Her Honour Lois Mitchell and Mayor Don Iveson will be in attendance.
Bring your mementos of the Great War to The Memory Wall, walk the John McCrae Poppy Labyrinth & leave a message of peace. And yes, there will be a tank & a 21-gun salute! The event will be a remarkable experience for all ages.
